COLORS AND DEVOTION

The Colors and Devotion Collection is my first attempt to show the diversity of Brazil through fashion, a melting pot of races, religions, colors, culinary, and the sensuality of its people. A breathtaking land of inspirations.

The french photographer Pierre Fatumbi Berger is one of the sources of inspiration for the collection’s photoshoot done in Salvador, the capital of the state of Bahia. Salvador is the largest city proper in the Northeast of Brazil. Founded by the Portuguese in 1549 as the first capital of Brazil, It is one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas and The Pelourinho District in the upper town, is home to many examples of Portuguese colonial architecture and historical monuments.

Photographing in Salvador through a pandemic was challenging and we couldn’t use many of the places we wanted to photograph as a backdrop, because they were closed. But I'm sure that in spite of the pandemic we achieved a beautiful result. Our dear friend Ravaneli Mesquita, a very talented and easy going photographer, came once again to help us turn my vision and dreams into reality. We traveled through Salvador observing the beautiful people, sightings and feeling all the local energy. Antonio Quiroz came directly from Mexico to do the make up and hair of our beautiful models Noemi, Mhavi and Adriana. Juan Ripoll, husband and best friend, always by my side showing an understanding of the human soul in a way that only a truly gifted person can.

The colors of Brazil and it's people are always a very strong starting point to any collection that I make. The Devotion to my work is what keeps me going forward, exploring different ways to show what I do, what moves me and what I believe. I’m always hoping to be understood by the public, that's what completes any work of art.

I’m certain that what I'm creating with my team is beyond market demands. Its poetry.
